Improving Electrical Efficiency of Waste to Energy Plants DO YOU HAVE A SUCCESS STORY? We’d like to hear from you. CLICK HERE RELATED MARKETSingapore CONTRIBUTING PARTNERS Deadline for application: Fri, 21 Sep. 2018 Research proposals to increase energy recovery from wide thermal treatment technologies for municipal solid waste (MSW) management – Applicants could propose novel technologies, techniques and/or innovative processes, at sub-system and/or component level, where R&D can lead to an increase in the electrical efficiency of the plant. Applicants shall demonstrate and show the theoretical thermodynamic calculations in the project submission on how the proposed R&D could help contribute to the target of 27% and whilom net electrical efficiency of the plant. – Examples of proposal that imbricate the components, sub-systems and processes of a large scale WTE plant could include, but are not limited to, the pursuit areas: a) Maximising heat recovery for steam generation using novel heat mart concepts; b) Improving the efficiency of steam turbine Rankine trundling such as raising the superheated steam pressure and temperature to the turbine inlet; and c) Developing innovative method of heat rejection for condensation of the saturated vapour or wet vapour from the steam turbine exit to saturated liquid at unelevated atmospheric pressure (where the saturation temperature is as tropical to ambient temperature as feasible).
